About AHP

Cape Cod

Cape Cod stretches nearly 42 miles into the Atlantic and comprises 14 towns each with its unique culture. The clinicians in our group, because they have lived here for many years, are attuned to the locale and know how to find resources for patients that may not be obvious. Having roots in our communities means that we are known to residents, educators, medical practitioners and other agencies. We can integrate services and help coordinate patient care.

Overview of Our Practice

We are a group of experienced clinicians with varied backgrounds in psychology and social work. We work with a wide range of issues with children, adolescents and adults. We offer therapy, including evidence-based interventions, for individuals, couples, groups and families. In addition we consult with schools, courts, churches, and family businesses. We also offer neuro-psychological testing and independent educational evaluations.

Our offices are centrally located in the mid-cape area easily accessible from Bourne and Eastham using Exits 5 or 6 on Route 6. Insured members may select an individual provider by specialty and/or individual characteristics. All AHP clinicians are credentialed on both local and national insurance panels including Mass Health. Evening and weekend hours are available.

  • Routine appointments are scheduled within one week. Evening and weekend hours are available.
  • Urgent appointments are scheduled within two days.
  • Emergency appointments are seen the same day.
  • We will return physician phone calls promptly.

Our initial evaluation includes comprehensive history taking, use of standardized rating scales, and a diagnostic interview. For children, additional data is collected through school report cards, child rating scales, and sometimes a classroom observation. When appropriate, if medication is under consideration, we collaborate with both primary care physicians and psychiatrists.

Treatment goals and strategies are fully discussed with members for their consent before proceeding with treatment. We welcome on-going feedback from members about their progress.
